When this happens, the brake pedal completely depresses to the floor without any effective braking force. Service brake- Intermittent loss of brake pedal resistance has been a common issue on the 2012 Cadillac SRX.An oil leak is the second issue and the primary sources of these leaks are the oil filter assembly and the timing chain cover gasket. ![]() If not replaced at the right times, extensive damage to valves, pistons, and camshaft can occur. Random stalls, loss of power, and knocking sounds are some indications of slack in the timing chain due to an underperforming tensioner. ![]() SUVs with mileages as low as 52,000 miles reportedly have had timing chain failures as NHTSA suggests.
